Betty’s Morning Routine

In the morning when I’m still in bed
Betty the Cat sits down on my head
Thus telling me she wants to be fed

And if I keep sleeping and show little care
Betty the Cat starts licking my hair
In our breakfast time struggles she thinks this is fair

The hair-thing to me seems weird, indeed
But Betty the Cat does have her needs
And so I get up and dish out her feed

  1. Well, the cat is *very* cute. 🙂 I grew up in a cat house…um, no, a house with kittycats, felines…

There were also plenty of dogs in the neighborhood as well. And I had dogs in my life up until this past July, when my Sammie (an Alaskan Malamute) finally went to that igloo in the sky. 🙁 A very big dog, but incredibly sweet.

I now have a little black cat in my life named Lena (named for Lena Horne, whom I always thought was an incredibly beautiful woman and singer). Lena Cat can’t sing, but she sure can purr (she does the purring/lap routine just like Snowflake).

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the first in the series, going to get the next one in a few minutes. 🙂 I’m so glad Snowball was okay! (Yeah, that really had me concerned at the end of the book.) Really enjoyed the humor, and the fact that Jessie was NOT a 20-something chick with a fantastic, to-die-for figure! I just turned 50 this past June, and I’ve trying to find as many cozies with women sleuths who aren’t that young – because I can’t really relate to those 20-somethings anymore.

So, thank you for the great read! 🙂

  2. Hey Nancy,
Thanks for all the great feedback. I wrote the Cue Ball Mysteries hoping to make women our age (50s on up) laugh, since I, too, got sick of reading about younger women all the time. And I’m always on the lookout for older protagonists in the books I read. Of course, right this moment can’t think of any to suggest to you. I’ll keep thinking… Anyway, I am thrilled you like Jessie. I love spending time with her!

I like dogs and cats, and someday hope to have the time and lifestyle needed to have a dog. Right now a dog wouldn’t work. But a cat?? Betty is a sweet, sweet pet. And absolutely photogenic!

Please let me know what you think of Double Shot!

    Cindy B.
